The Anchormen are growing

Over the past years The Anchormen have taken a lot of time and effort in rebuilding the organisation to a well respected youth environment. They have tried to regenerate the passion of performing arts through there Winter Guard unit and Indoor Percussion section.

Within the process it has always been a goal to host a Winter Guard show, and they are delighted to announce that after so much hard work The Anchormen are to hold the Northern Show on Sunday 1st February 2009. This is to be held in the North Bridge Leisure Centre in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

The winter Director – Tony Abbott explains

“The past five years have been a complete success, and 2009 looks to be a year too really get The Anchormen back on the map. It has always been a dream of the Management Committee to get a show back to Halifax, as in years gone past its always been an exciting event, with 2009 being bigger and better than before.

The organisation has grown recently, with now two competing Winter Guard’s, an Indoor Percussion Unit and the Anchormen Ensemble. Its beginning to be the heart beat of the Elland again and the forth coming show will allow us to show what the organisation can deliver from The Anchormen and also WGUK.

The event will not only host a WGUK show but also give the opportunity for the Indoor percussion units to perform. There will be special guest’s perform including The Anchormen Ensemble as well as a performance from the “Old Boy’s” B&B unit.

We want to put on a real special day for everyone that attends and hope that the show is well attended by competing units.”
