WGUK Judging - The Way Forward - 1st event report

At the end of August William Chumley, the new WinterGuard United Kingdom Director of Education, travelled to the UK for a 5 day trip to commence the WGUK Judge Training Programme.

Over the first couple of days, as well as a little bit of sightseeing, William spent most of his time looking at how the judging had been handled over the past few years, to get an understanding of the current situation, and then on Saturday 30th August he held the first training event which was well attended by existing Judges, potential Judges and Guard Staff.

On the following day time was spent analysing the work that had taken place on the Saturday and then agreeing the next steps on this exciting process.

A new section of the WGUK website, which can be accessed from the link in the top bar of the website, has now being set up which will focus on all aspects of judging and will also allow everyone to see how the programme is progressing.  This section will also be used as the "portal" for units to download their judges comments from contests throughout the 2009 season.

Visit the WGUK Judging pages and see the initial report from William which also highlights the future events over the next few months and do not worry if you were not able to attend the first event, but are interested in taking part in any future events, please get in contact - judges@wguk.org.uk - this is an ongoing process to provide quality judging to the UK activity and so if you wish for get involved then get in touch now.
