1st British Indoor Percussion
Championships in 08

WGUK are pleased to announce that at our 2008 Championships on 5th April we will be presenting the 1st British Indoor Percussion Championships. 

Over the past couple of years WGUK has encouraged indoor percussion units to take an active part in the winter season shows and whilst these have not been competitive there has been a number of drumlines that have taken advantage of these opportunities with most then travelling to Holland to compete at the CGN Finals.

In 2008 the dates of the CGN and WGUK Championships fall on different weekends and the Board of WGUK overwhelming agreed that this gave the ideal platform to hold the 1st British Indoor Percussion Championships which will form part of the proceedings at the WGUK Championships event on Saturday 5th April at The Brentwood Centre, Essex.

Time has been allocated to ensure at least 5 units can compete for the title of British Champions. To be eligible to enter drumlines must have taken part in one of the seven WGUK shows taking place between January and March 2008. Currently it is not envisaged any of these pre-Championships performances will be competitive however discussions will take place with all units who come forward and a final decision regarding this will be made prior to the commencement of the 2008 season.
